Axis 1 – International Political and Economic Sociology

The “International Political and Economic Sociology” research area focuses on the intertwining of political and economic processes in the contemporary social world, with an emphasis on the international dimension of these processes. From the state to inequalities, culture, ecology, migration, and social movements, a wide range of topics are addressed from a non-Eurocentric perspective, with attention paid to both the historical and comparative dimensions of phenomena and the social history of ideas. The research planned within this theme places particular emphasis on methods of data production and interpretation.

The team working on this theme organizes a monthly seminar entitled “International Political and Economic Sociology” with presentations by members of the laboratory, doctoral and post-doctoral students, as well as French and foreign colleagues.
